Summary

This study tests whether a single IV dose of allopregnanolone (a natural brain chemical) can help people with chronic PTSD get more out of therapy. The drug may help the brain better process traumatic memories by either strengthening new learning or weakening old fear responses. 96 adults with PTSD will receive either the drug or a placebo and undergo memory tests over three days.
