Ecuador study aims to unlock secrets of therapy success
NCT ID NCT07257848
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study follows 340 people receiving routine psychotherapy in Ecuador to see how their psychological distress changes over time. Participants simply fill out short questionnaires before each session. The goal is to learn what factors are linked to better outcomes in real-world mental health care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help therapists in Ecuador better understand which factors lead to improvement in common mental health problems.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so it cannot prove what causes change. Results may not apply outside Ecuador.
