Summary
This study tested whether a special probiotic supplement, called a psychobiotic, could improve mental health and aid weight loss in obese women. Forty participants followed a weight-loss diet and took either the probiotic or a placebo pill daily for four weeks. Researchers measured changes in weight, mood, quality of life, and markers of body inflammation.
