First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether a daily probiotic supplement (called a psychobiotic) could improve mental health, quality of life, and weight loss in obese women following a weight-loss diet. 28 women took either the supplement or a placebo for 4 weeks. Researchers measured changes in weight, body mass index, mood, and inflammation markers. The goal was to see if targeting gut bacteria could help both mind and body during weight loss.
