First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a single early meeting with a psycho-oncology counselor can reduce anxiety and depression and improve quality of life in people recently diagnosed with cancer. About 148 patients will be randomly assigned to either receive this counseling plus standard care, or standard care alone. The study was designed with patient input and will track outcomes over 6 months.
