First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looks at how psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms) changes brain activity and body responses in healthy volunteers. Twelve people with past psychedelic experience will take four doses of psilocybin and have MRI and EEG scans. The goal is to understand the different mental states that can occur during a psychedelic trip, which may help improve future therapies using these substances.
