New study probes weight loss and arthritis drugs' effect on joint, fat, and skin tissues

NCT ID NCT07443956

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at how weight loss (using tirzepatide) and the biologic drug ixekizumab affect joint, fat, and skin tissues in people with psoriatic arthritis who are overweight or obese. 45 participants will receive one or both treatments, and tissue samples will be taken at the start and after 12 weeks. The goal is to understand the molecular changes linked to weight loss, not to test if the treatments work.
