Could a cheap old drug make expensive psoriasis treatments work better and last longer?

NCT ID NCT02829424

Summary

This study tested whether adding a low dose of an older, inexpensive drug called methotrexate could help people with moderate-to-severe psoriasis get better results from newer, more expensive anti-TNF biologic drugs. The goal was to see if the combination helped patients maintain their skin improvement for a longer period, potentially preventing the biologic drug from losing its effectiveness over time. The trial was terminated early, and its full results are not publicly available.
