New scan could spot hidden GI cancers

NCT ID NCT05547919

First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests whether a type of PET scan that looks for a protein called PSMA can find and monitor gastrointestinal cancers, including liver, colon, pancreatic, and bile duct cancers. About 46 adults with newly diagnosed cancer will get the scan before starting standard treatment. Researchers want to see if the scan finds more cancer spots than usual imaging and if it can help predict how the disease will progress.
