Magic mushroom therapy tested for trauma from partner violence
NCT ID NCT06885996
Summary
This study aims to see if a single dose of psilocybin (the active compound in 'magic mushrooms'), given alongside a specific type of talk therapy, can help reduce the symptoms of PTSD in adults who have survived intimate partner violence. Researchers will compare a higher dose to a very low dose to see which is more effective at easing trauma symptoms and improving quality of life. The study will involve 76 participants and track their progress for six months after the psilocybin session.
