Summary
This study is testing whether a single dose of psilocybin, the active compound in 'magic mushrooms,' given alongside supportive therapy, can help people with advanced cancer. It aims to reduce severe anxiety, depression, and the deep distress that can come from facing a serious illness. Researchers will compare the effects of psilocybin to a placebo vitamin in 200 participants to see which is better at improving mental well-being and quality of life.
