Magic mushroom microdose trial offers hope for easing End-of-Life suffering

Summary
This study is testing if very small, non-hallucinogenic doses of psilocybin (a compound from 'magic mushrooms') can quickly reduce depression, anxiety, and loss of purpose in people with advanced, life-limiting illnesses. It will compare the effects of the microdose against a placebo pill in 120 patients receiving palliative care. The goal is to find a faster, more accessible way to ease severe psychological distress for those nearing the end of life.
