Magic mushroom compound tested as potential breakthrough for severe depression

Summary
This large, late-stage trial is testing whether a single dose of a psilocybin-based therapy (COMP360), given with psychological support, can reduce symptoms in people with treatment-resistant depression. About 255 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the active treatment or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the treatment is effective and safe over six weeks, with longer-term follow-up to check if benefits last.
