Magic mushroom therapy targets veteran depression after spinal injury

Summary

This study tests whether psilocybin, the active ingredient in magic mushrooms, is safe and can ease depression in veterans with spinal cord injury. Thirty participants will receive low, medium, or high doses and be monitored for side effects and mood changes over 13 months. The goal is to see if this psychedelic therapy is a tolerable option for this group.
