Magic mushroom therapy tested for cancer pain relief
NCT ID NCT06827054
Summary
This study is testing whether a low dose of psilocybin, the active compound in 'magic mushrooms,' combined with talk therapy, can help reduce chronic pain in cancer patients who rely on opioid painkillers. It will involve 20 adult patients with active cancer and moderate-to-severe pain. Researchers want to see if this approach is safe and if it can lessen pain and the need for opioids.
