Summary

This study is testing whether psilocybin, the active compound in 'magic mushrooms,' can help people with moderate to severe alcohol use disorder. Researchers will give 200 participants either psilocybin or a placebo and use brain scans to see how it affects their brain's response to alcohol cues and negative emotions. The goal is to understand if psilocybin can help control alcohol cravings and reduce drinking by changing brain patterns.
