Scientists launch deep dive to unlock mysteries of rare liver disease
NCT ID NCT04685200
Summary
This study aims to understand the biological causes of Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC), a rare and serious chronic liver disease. Researchers will collect extensive samples—like blood, stool, and tissue—and perform various tests on about 143 adult participants with PSC over 12 months. The goal is to gather detailed information to learn how genetics, the immune system, and gut bacteria might interact to cause this disease.
