Advanced proton therapy tested to protect brain function in tumor patients
NCT ID NCT06831461
Summary
This study is testing if a newer type of radiation, called proton therapy, is better than standard X-ray therapy at preserving patients' quality of life after brain tumor treatment. It will involve 156 adults with certain types of brain tumors that have a good long-term outlook. The main goal is to see if proton therapy leads to longer 'functional survival,' meaning patients live longer without their cancer returning, dying, or experiencing serious side effects like memory loss or hearing damage.
