New radiation approach aims to protect immune system during cervical cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07298642

Summary

This study is comparing two types of radiation therapy for advanced cervical cancer: proton therapy and traditional photon therapy. Researchers want to see if proton therapy causes less damage to important immune cells and leads to fewer side effects while still effectively controlling the cancer. The study will follow 44 patients for about 9 weeks of treatment plus 5 years of follow-up to track survival and long-term effects.
