Proton beam therapy may ease bowel side effects after prostate cancer surgery

Summary
This study looks at two types of radiation therapy (proton and photon) given after prostate cancer surgery. The goal is to see if proton therapy causes fewer bowel side effects and improves quality of life. About 900 men who need radiation after their prostate removal will take part. The study also checks if a shorter course of radiation works as well as the standard longer course.
