NCT ID NCT01617161
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study compares two types of radiation therapy—proton beam therapy and IMRT—for men with low- or intermediate-risk prostate cancer. Both treatments aim to cure the cancer by targeting the prostate while sparing healthy tissue, but they may cause different side effects like bowel, urinary, or erectile problems. Researchers are following 454 men to see which therapy leads to better quality of life two years after treatment.
