Tech check: could a technician spot proton therapy side effects better?

NCT ID NCT05404308

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a weekly check by a specially trained medical technician (called a MERM) to the usual doctor visits can improve how we spot side effects in people getting proton therapy for brain or head-and-neck tumors. About 92 adults will be randomly assigned to either standard care or the extra technician visit. The goal is to see if this approach finds more side effects that need treatment, without changing the therapy itself.
