New hope for kids: gentler radiation aims to protect growth

NCT ID NCT03281889

Summary

This study is testing a more precise form of radiation therapy (proton therapy) for children with brain tumors that require radiation to the brain and spine. The goal is to see if this method can protect the bones and bone marrow in the spine, aiming to reduce side effects like growth problems and low blood counts. It involves up to 20 children and teens, and researchers will monitor their health, growth, and cancer status over time.
