New 'Peaks and Valleys' radiation aims to shrink tough tumors with fewer side effects
NCT ID NCT05831579
Summary
This early study is testing a specialized form of proton radiation called 'GRID' for patients with large, inoperable, or metastatic tumors that need treatment to relieve symptoms. The technique delivers radiation in a precise 'peaks and valleys' pattern, which researchers hope will be effective at controlling tumor growth while causing fewer side effects than standard radiation. The main goal is to check how safe this approach is and see if it helps control the targeted tumors.
