Protein boost may supercharge stroke recovery
NCT ID NCT02347995
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a high-protein drink to strength training helps stroke survivors rebuild lost muscle and improve their mobility better than strength training alone. Researchers are comparing two groups of stroke survivors over 12 weeks: one does strength training with protein supplements, and the other does the same training with a placebo drink. The goal is to see if better nutrition can help maximize the benefits of exercise for long-term recovery after a stroke.
