Fighting muscle wasting in kidney disease: new study tests diet and exercise combo
NCT ID NCT05482243
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized program of protein supplements and exercise training could help build muscle in people with advanced kidney disease, before they need dialysis. Researchers compared 40 participants—some with kidney disease and some healthy—to see if the program could increase the body's natural muscle-building process. The goal was to find ways to help patients maintain strength and independence for longer.
