Can MRI outshine standard lab tests for prostate cancer diagnosis?

NCT ID NCT03784924

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study aims to find out if prostate MRI is better than a set of lab tests (like PSA) at detecting serious prostate cancer in men who have not been diagnosed yet. About 950 men scheduled for a biopsy will get both an MRI and lab tests, and researchers will compare which method more accurately identifies cancer that needs treatment. The goal is to improve early detection and reduce unnecessary biopsies.
