Prostate drug may protect Men's hearts

NCT ID NCT07196280

Summary

This study looked at whether medications commonly used for enlarged prostate (BPH) might also help reduce the risk of heart disease. Researchers analyzed health records from 10,000 men with BPH to see if those taking 5-alpha reductase inhibitors had fewer heart problems. The goal was to understand if an existing prostate treatment could provide an extra benefit for heart health.
