New vaccine strategy aims to boost immune attack on prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT04989946

Summary

This study is testing whether a new DNA vaccine can help the body's immune system fight prostate cancer when given alongside standard hormone-blocking therapy. It is for men with newly diagnosed, high-risk prostate cancer who are scheduled for surgery to remove the prostate. Researchers want to see if the vaccine, sometimes combined with other immune-boosting drugs, can shrink or eliminate the cancer before surgery and is safe for patients.
