New prostate cancer treatment aims to cure with fewer side effects

NCT ID NCT06111313

First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to treat prostate cancer using MRI-guided radiation that targets only the tumor, not the whole prostate. For early-stage patients, a single high-dose session may be enough to cure the cancer. For higher-risk patients, the focused dose is followed by standard radiation. Some patients also receive a very short course of hormone therapy. The goal is to improve cure rates while reducing side effects and preserving quality of life.
