Radiation boost tested to extend control of spreading prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT03503344

Summary

This study tested if adding a short, precise course of radiation to a hormone-blocking drug helps men with advanced prostate cancer that has spread to a few spots. Men were randomly assigned to receive either the drug alone or the drug plus targeted radiation to their visible cancer spots. The main goal was to see if the combination led to a longer period of undetectable PSA levels after stopping treatment.
