Could a pill replace standard hormone shots for prostate cancer?
NCT ID NCT07299292
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether a daily pill (abiraterone with prednisone) can lower testosterone enough to control prostate cancer, avoiding the usual hormone-blocking injections. About 60 men with high-risk or advanced prostate cancer will take the pill for 30 days to see if it works. If successful, this could offer a more convenient treatment option.
