Two-Pronged attack on prostate cancer aims to control disease with fewer side effects
NCT ID NCT05345444
Summary
This study is testing whether a two-step treatment approach is safe and practical for men with intermediate-risk prostate cancer. First, doctors use a targeted electrical pulse treatment (IRE) to destroy the main tumor area, followed by a short course of precise, image-guided radiation therapy (MRgRT) to treat the rest of the prostate. The goal is to control the cancer effectively while aiming to reduce common side effects like urinary, bowel, and sexual problems compared to standard treatments.
