Five sessions vs. Twenty-Six: testing a faster radiation course for prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT01794403

Summary

This study is testing if a much shorter course of radiation therapy is as good as the standard, longer course for controlling prostate cancer. Men with low or intermediate-risk prostate cancer received either 5 treatments or 26 treatments. The main goal is to see if the shorter course keeps the cancer from coming back just as well, while also checking side effects and quality of life.
