Radiation boost aims to slash prostate cancer return rate

Summary

This study is testing whether giving an extra-high dose of radiation directly to the main prostate tumor, while treating the rest of the prostate with a standard dose, can better control intermediate-risk prostate cancer. Researchers want to see if this 'boost' approach can cut the chance of the cancer coming back in half, from 20% to 10%, two years after treatment. The goal is to improve long-term control while trying to keep side effects low.
