New PET scan spots hidden prostate cancer spread
NCT ID NCT04655365
First seen Dec 26, 2025 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested a special PET scan (18F-DCFPyL) to see if it can find cancer spread that standard scans miss in men with castration-resistant prostate cancer starting enzalutamide. About 50 men with no or few signs of spread on regular scans took part. The goal was to see if this new scan detects more metastases, helping doctors better monitor the disease.
