New scan could catch hidden prostate cancers earlier in men on watchful waiting

NCT ID NCT07285057

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a special PET/CT scan (rhPSMA-7.3) to the usual MRI can better find aggressive prostate cancers in men with low-risk cancer who are on active surveillance. About 120 men will get both scans before a confirmatory biopsy. The goal is to see if the PET/CT helps doctors catch more cancers that need treatment, without extra risk beyond standard procedures.
