New scans aim to spot prostate cancer spread before blood tests can

NCT ID NCT07210086

Summary

This study is testing whether two new tools—a special PET scan and a blood test that looks for tumor DNA—can detect if prostate cancer is getting worse earlier than the standard PSA blood test. It will involve 50 men with prostate cancer that has spread to a few spots, who are getting targeted radiation treatment. Researchers want to see if these tools can give doctors a clearer picture of how well the radiation is working and if the cancer is progressing.
