New scanner may cut scans for prostate cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05470699

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new PET-CT scanner can produce clear images of prostate cancer tumors, similar to the standard scan. About 34 adults with prostate cancer will get both scans to compare. If the new scanner works well, it could allow doctors to plan radiation therapy using fewer scans.
