Doctors test blocking blood flow to control early prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT03407963

Summary

This small pilot study tested a procedure called prostatic arterial embolization (PAE) in men with early, low-risk prostate cancer who were on active surveillance. The goal was to see if blocking the blood supply to the cancerous part of the prostate could control the tumor locally. Researchers checked for safety, side effects, and whether the procedure could delay or prevent the need for more aggressive treatments like surgery or radiation.
