Diabetes drug tested to shrink prostate tumors before surgery

NCT ID NCT04887935

Summary

This is a small, early-stage study to see if a drug called dapagliflozin, normally used for diabetes, is safe and tolerable for men with aggressive prostate cancer before they have surgery to remove the prostate. Researchers want to see if taking the pill daily for four weeks before the operation can help shrink the tumor. The main goal is to check for side effects and see if most men can complete the treatment as planned.
