Precision radiation boost for prostate cancer: first human test
NCT ID NCT05322356
First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to deliver extra radiation directly to prostate tumors using a 3D ultrasound guidance system. Fifteen men with low- or favorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer will receive standard brachytherapy plus up to 4 additional iodine-125 implants placed precisely where biopsies show cancer. The main goal is to see if the implants land exactly in the target area, and researchers will also track side effects over 12 months.
