Simple urine test could replace needle biopsy for prostate cancer?

NCT ID NCT05141383

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study collected urine and blood samples from 80 men, including those with prostate cancer, those with suspected cancer, and healthy volunteers. The goal was to find genetic markers (long non-coding RNA) that could help diagnose prostate cancer and predict its progression without needing a tissue biopsy. Researchers will analyze the samples to see if these markers can reliably tell aggressive cancers from slow-growing ones.
