New database aims to reveal true value of prostate ablation

NCT ID NCT06705803

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study creates a large database of men with prostate cancer who choose prostate ablation (a minimally invasive treatment) instead of active surveillance or more aggressive therapies. Researchers will collect medical records from up to 3,000 participants to see how well ablation controls cancer and affects quality of life over time. No extra tests or visits are required—only existing medical data is used. The goal is to provide clearer guidance on who benefits most from this middle-ground treatment.
