Brain injury sedation study halted after just one patient
NCT ID NCT01712477
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study aimed to compare two common sedatives, propofol and midazolam, in patients with traumatic brain injury who needed a breathing machine. Researchers wanted to see if either drug led to better recovery or less brain inflammation. However, the study was stopped early after enrolling only one person, so no meaningful conclusions could be drawn.
