First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a sleep-inducing drug called propofol, given with brief behavioral therapy, can improve deep sleep and reduce depression in adults aged 60 and older whose depression has not responded to standard treatments. Seventy participants will receive two propofol infusions (low or moderate dose) plus therapy sessions. The goal is to see if boosting slow-wave sleep helps both mood and thinking.
