NCT ID NCT05819619
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This early-phase study tested whether taking ibuprofen (a pain reliever) and ondansetron (an anti-nausea drug) before a medical abortion (up to 70 days pregnant) could reduce pain and nausea and make the experience more satisfying. The trial planned to enroll 8 healthy, English-speaking women, but was terminated early. The goal was to see if this simple preventive approach improves comfort and satisfaction.
