Three programs tested to ease the hidden emotional burden of type 1 diabetes

NCT ID NCT04016558

Summary

This study tested three different 3-month support programs to help adults with type 1 diabetes manage the emotional stress and worry that comes with daily disease management. About 300 participants were split into groups to try either a program focused on emotions, one focused on emotions and daily tasks, or a traditional education program. Researchers followed them for a year to see which approach best reduced diabetes-related distress and improved blood sugar control.
