IVF breakthrough: could a simple pill replace daily shots?
NCT ID NCT05954962
First seen Mar 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested whether an oral progesterone pill (Seidigestan®) works as well as standard daily injections (Astarté®) for preventing early ovulation in healthy egg donors undergoing IVF. 150 women aged 18-33 took part. The goal was to see if the pill could be a simpler, less painful option without reducing the number of mature eggs retrieved.
