Fasting at night may lower blood cancer risk in overweight adults
NCT ID NCT05565638
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether fasting for a longer period each night could help overweight or obese adults with early blood cancer signs (MGUS, smoldering multiple myeloma, or smoldering Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia) lose weight and possibly prevent the disease from progressing. Twenty-three participants were randomly assigned to either a prolonged nightly fasting plan or a healthy lifestyle control group for 4 months. The main goal was to see changes in body composition and blood markers related to cancer.
